Fort du succès de la première édition en juin 2009, l’Ethernet Powerlink Standardization Group organise une 2ème conférence Ethernet Industriel. Cet événement aura lieu le jeudi 7 octobre 2010à l’hôtel Concorde Lafayette, Paris 17ème.

Le thème principal de cette conférence sera la sécurité des machines.

Bureau Veritas présentera la nouvelle directive machine et ses implications pour les constructeurs et les exploitants, ainsi que les nouvelles exigences liées au futur remplacement de la norme NF EN 254 par la nouvelle norme NF EN 13849.

openSAFETY, le seul protocole de sécurité totalement ouvert et indépendant du bus de communication, sera également au programme.

D’autres aspects de l’Ethernet Industriel feront aussi l’objet de présentations ou démonstrations.

La société IXXAT interviendra pour faire un exposé sur les différentes technologies Ethernet Industriel.

Les sociétés Alstom, B&R, Harting, Hilscher, et d’autres, présenteront des exemples d’application avec leurs solutions.

Notez aussi que la société Cyberio fera un exposé sur la maintenance prédictive avec POWERLINK et CANopen.

Souvenir : Ca me rappelle la mise en place du premier réseau Ethernet pour la RATP en 1996 (je crois) à laquelle j’avais participé (travail de nuit, transport d’un station unix pour paramètrage en RARPD des Ponts Multiports et des cartes SNMP des concentrateurs optiques (hub) permettant le transport du réseau multi-services 10Mb/s de l’époque)

Dans la nuit du 23 au 24 mars 2010, la rédaction de 01netPro a assisté au déploiement de la fibre optique dans le métro parisien. C’est dans la station

Montparnasse-Bienvenüe que Telcité nous a présenté la technique d’installation d’un câble de 48 brins de fibre. Depuis son déroulement jusqu’aux tests pour valider son l’installation, en passant par la fixation aux crochets et le raccordement à l’armoire de câbles.

La fibre optique déployée par Telcité n’est pas éclairée. C’est ensuite à ses clients (des opérateurs télécoms, de centres de données ou encore des entreprises) d’installer leurs équipements optiques terminaux, de gérer l’envoi de leurs flux et de monitorer cette fibre. Cette fibre monomode, dont le cœur fait neuf microns, est utilisée pour transmettre des flux voix données images à 10 Gbit/s.

L’inconvénient majeur de cette solution est de ne proposer qu’une solution mono-débit de bout en bout (ici du 100Mb/s) car il est impossible avec cette solution de passer à un débit moindre (10Mbit/s) ou plus important (gigabit). Or le temps de latence du switch “store & forward” annoncé comme problématique en 100Mb/s (ici de 120µs) est divisé par 10 en gigabit minimisant ainsi l’impact du transport sur le réseau automatisme et garantissant l’interopérabilité entre switchs de différents constructeurs respectant le standard. Par ailleurs, en intégrant le standard IEEE1588, le PTP : Precision Time Protocol, le temps de parcours de tout le réseau peut être mesuré précisément de bout en bout et permettre ainsi de déterminer les critères Temps Réel du réseau traversé.

Pour diminuer encore plus le temps de traversé du réseau, on peut aussi remplacer les switchs par des hubs (répéteurs) 100Mb/s (quitte a les “bidouiller” un peu pour éviter les collisions que la méthode CSMA/CD classique amène sur ce type de produit – ce que n’hésite pas à proposer certains constructeurs automatismes). En résumé, le choix sera de savoir si l’on souhaite une solution ouverte et pérenne ou une solution propriétaire… 

Store and forward, cut-through Ethernet switching

The performance of switching technology is greatly enhanced by use of cut-through switching technology rather than store-and-forward technology. (See figure 1.)
Neither will guarantee determinism, however, making both insufficient for many automation applications. Protocol prioritization for IEEE 802.1q also is ineffective because automation protocols compete with other protocols of the same and higher priority. The delays that can result are unacceptable for automation.

Two delay mechanisms are:

- Delays in the input port: If an input port’s queue (memory) is saturated with traffic from other protocols of the same or higher priority than the automation protocols, then the automation messages are delayed. (See figure 2.) This leads to unpredictable delays for automation protocols.

- Bottleneck in the output port: If the switch’s output port is saturated with messages, high priority automation protocols also have to wait for port release. (See figure 3.) A low priority message with a length of 1,500 bytes leaves the output port. The high priority automation message then has to wait up to 125 ?sec for port release.

If traffic in the network is very low, then only the Ethernet transmission rate, the message length, and switch latency periods determine the message transition delay.

In this example, the minimum message transition delays are approximately 160 ?sec. An increase in Ethernet network load results in delays in the input ports and also creates bottlenecks in switch output ports. If a very long message leaves an output port on the above route and if a high-priority automation message leaves the switch on the same port, then the automation message has to wait for release of the port.

This effect can be repeated on the route and culminate in several milliseconds of delay. In a line, this can occur at one switch as both messages travel the same route. The automation message always follows the long message and, each time, would have to wait until after the long message leaves the ports. There is no passing lane. Probability of this undesired effect grows with network load.

With just 16 switches, message transition delays of several milliseconds occur.

Deterministic Ethernet with Fast Track Switching

Harting Fast Track Switching resolves this problem. The Fast Track Switch detects automation protocols and passes them on with priority over all other protocols. In this way, it gives automation priority over other Ethernet applications. The Fast Track Switch accelerates all detected automation messages using the integrated cut-through method and prevents delays.

Moreover, with Fast Track Switching, automation messages can overtake other messages occupying a required port, eliminating "waiting times." If an IT message is being sent and the port is occupied by an automation message, forwarding of the IT message is terminated in a controlled manner. The cut-through method forwards the automation message without delay. Afterward, the buffered IT message continues. Fast Track Switching guarantees message transition delays at a higher performance than fieldbus systems

Over the last 12 months 314 new members have joined the EtherCAT Technology Group (ETG), bringing the total to 1195 ETG member companies from 48 countries. Most ETG members are located in Germany, where EtherCAT originated, followed by the United States, Japan and China/Taiwan.
The large variety of EtherCAT controllers, drives, I/O and sensors was mirrored at the ETG booth of the SPS/IPC/Drives show in Nuremberg, Germany: over 200 different devices were shown there. Among the exhibits was a multi vendor demo with 30 drives from 20 different manufacturers, which are all operated synchronously within a single EtherCAT network.
All in all, more than 50 vendors are either already shipping EtherCAT servo drives or have announced such products in public. Over 70 vendors offer EtherCAT master devices such as PLCs, PC-based controls, CNC and embedded controllers, using more than 15 different real-time operating systems to implement them.

Ce standard défini la suite de protocole, le système d’administration, les passerelles et les spécifications de sécurité pour une communication sans fil à faible débit avec des équipements fixes, portables ou mobiles et avec une consommation électrique très limitée.

L’intérêt de ce protocole porte sur les besoins de performances des applications tel que la supervision et le “contrôle process” où une latence d’environ 100ms est tolérée avec une possibilité d’une latence plus courte optionnellement.

Le comité ISA100 vient d’approuver par le vote le standard sans fil ISA 100.11a intitulé « Wireless Systems for Industrial Automation: Process Control and Related Applications ». C’est à présent un standard officiel de l’ISA.

The new "IP Watcher" from Wiesemann & Theis GmbH provides continuous monitoring of network components and sends an alarm as soon as devices are no longer responding.

Network stations are cyclically "pinged" by their IP addresses stored in the IP Watcher. If there is no reply to a request, an alarm is triggered. This takes place either by switching actuators or sending a message over the network (e-mail, SNMP trap, Syslog message, FTP upload, TCP or UDP client message).

The device is housed in a compact DIN rail mount enclosure containing a Web server and space for two digital inputs and two digital outputs.If the IP Watcher is incorporated into a network, Web pages provided by the internal Web server are used to carry out the device and alarm configuration. The device can be fully operated from any desired browser without installing additional plug-ins.

M&M Software offers a new tool that enables the access to device parameters even in heterogeneous Fieldbus environments, the fdtCONTAINER OPC Server. The new product is specially designed for the connection of Condition Monitoring and Asset Management applications.

The proven fdtCONTAINER component has been integrated into an OPC-Server and allows the use of DTMS within this OPC Server. The DTMs are loaded into the OPC-Server and enable the communication and the exchange of data with the devices. The OPC Server transfers the identified data into the respective OPC-Namespace. This namespace is generated automatically from the existing network topology.

In this way, any OPC-capable clients can access the provided data via standard OPC-Interfaces. The fdtCONTAINER OPC Server provides to the user a holistic solution for the configuration of the network, the device parameterization and the linking of data. The solution is independent from the applied devices, the network structure and the applied protocols.
